Roeder is domestic terrorist Scott Roeder is a domestic terrorist --- no different than Timothy McVeigh. He should be judged, and punished, as such. The so-called "pro-life" movement that produced Roeder is complicit in Dr. George Tiller's recent murder. Their supposed "culture of life" is actually a culture of intolerance, sexism and hatred. Roeder was just a radical byproduct of this culture. There have been many other incidents over the years of "pro-life" radical behavior, including murder, bombings and vandalism. Furthermore, Christian fundamentalism, which is at the core of the "pro-life" movement, is specifically complicit in the crime committed in Wichita. It is no surprise that in both Christian and Islamic fundamentalist perspectives there is no room for compromise or understanding --- it's either their way or no way. Sadly, Dr. Tiller lost his life in the struggle against this form of domestic terrorism. However, even more sad is that the real "murder" was perpetrated against our society in America --- a society which is supposed to be governed by laws, tolerance and understanding. God helps us all in our struggle against all forms of terrorism. David Raffel Parkville, Mo. Name appropriate I have read several times in news articles about objections calling Dr. Tiller a mass murderer. While certainly regretting his death, I must say the name tag is appropriate. Follow it logically. Start with a definition of abortion. I would say that abortion is the barbaric killing of an innocent life. It is accepted without question in biology and human science that life begins at conception. We all go from embryo to fetus to baby to child to grown adult. It is known that the unborn feels pain. I have read that Tiller claimed to have aborted 60,000 babies. That tells me that he is way over what many serial killers have done but far short of any political figures like Hitler, Stalin or Pol Pot. We have a mass murderer killed by a lone murderer. Some claim that the soul enters the body at conception, making the fetus a person, and therefore that abortion is murder. Others claim to know that this is not true, and therefore abortion is not murder. Still others claim that they do not know when the soul enters the body. If you do not know for sure that an unborn baby is not a person and has no soul, how horribly callous and irresponsible to risk the possibility of murder. Bob Harrison Olathe

O.K. I'll follow it logically... a Zygote is not a baby and many things can happen before birth. If the woman is having complications with her pregnancy she has every right to safe and legal healthcare... period. You don't make that decision for her. There is no way for you to validate the murder of a doctor performing his legal duties at the request of the woman.
There is absolutely no scientific evidence which proves life begins at conception. That is pure anti-choice propaganda. You will most likely find those kinds of lies on hysterical websites and in leaflets passed out by the radical right.
For you to equate a doctor performing his duties to a "mass murderer" is absolutely sick. But I can't say I'm surprised since many of your ilk refuse to see the dangers to the mother and prefer to (ignorantly) equate the zygote to a baby, or ignore the health of the mother completely.
How callous to judge a women's health and attempt to subvert our laws by terrorist acts.
