Mission founder to speak at Hope Lutheran 

Steve Cohen, founder of The Apple of His Eye Mission Society in St. Louis, will speak at the 8, 9:30 and 11 a.m. services on Sunday, Feb. 7, at Hope Lutheran Church, 6308 Quivira Road, Shawnee.

Cohen has been a missionary to the Jewish people since 1976. He has written several articles for publication and four books. For information about Cohen’s mission, visit www.aohems.org. For details about his appearance, call 631-6940.

 

Unity class teaches principles

Unity Church of Overland Park, 10300 Antioch Road, presents “Visionaries of the Bible: Intuition and Inspiration” from 10 to 10:55 a.m. every Sunday in February beginning Feb. 7.

Church offers Alpha course

Indian Creek Community Church, 12480 S. Black Bob Road, Olathe, hosts a 10-week Alpha course featuring discussion that explores the evidence and spirituality of the Christian faith at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10.

Church offers women’s Bible study class

Fellowship Bible Church, 16900 S. Waverly Road, offers a seven-week Bible study for women called “Anointed, Transformed, Redeemed: A Study of David,” a video-based series featuring lessons by authors Beth Moore, Priscilla Shirer and Kay Arthur.

The Tuesday evening class is from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 9 through March 16 and the Thursday morning class is from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Feb. 4 through March 11.

The program is open to the public. Child care is provided free of charge. Registration fee includes class and workbook. For information or to register, call 856-8454.

 

Church hosts financial course

Emmanuel Baptist Church, 10100 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, presents Financial Peace University, the 13-week program by Dave Ramsey that teaches families and individuals how to handle their money through common-sense principles and small group accountability.
