Sun sports section Feb. 9, 2006 On Feb. 3, 2006, a memorable day for Bishop Miege High School, head girls basketball coach Terry English wins the 600th game of his storied 30-year coaching career and the school holds a press conference announcing that former Chiefs Pro Bowl center Tim Grunhard is the new head football coach of the Stags. English’s girls took to the road to knock off Blue Valley West 68-45 for win No. 600.“There have been a lot of players and coaches who helped me to this,” he told The Sun. His first victory came in 1976, when the Stags edged O’Hara 32-30 in the first girls basketball game in school history. Grunhard performed as a Chiefs center for 11 years and played in the 2000 Pro Bowl. He had been affiliated with St. Pius X High School since 1992 through the Tim Grunhard Camps and as an assistant football coach. He replaces Dan Ritter, who resigned for health reasons.
